Raise the Bar and Think Bigger

The safe route in life is chosen for the majority of us, and for the most part people stay sucked into that trap. All their hopes, dreams, and aspirations will remain exactly that due to the fear that is instilled upon us in society to not think bigger. People innately shy away from “risk” and gravitate towards “safety and security”. But what do these predetermined definitions actually entail, and what does that mean for someone who wants more for themselves but doesn’t possess the mindset to see that anything is possible? The sad truth is that a lack of mindset and limiting beliefs kill more dreams than one’s actual inability to achieve them. Thinking bigger, chasing discomfort, and betting on yourself is a surefire way to basically guarantee success in this country as long as you refuse to give up.

Surround Yourself with other who think big

This is perhaps the most important step to achieve high level goals and make dreams into reality. Surrounding yourself with people who are just as hungry and want it just as bad if not even more than you is extremely powerful and uplifting. When multiple minds are thinking bigger together it is truly amazing what a group of these type of like-minded people can accomplish. As I’ve written about before, I recently joined a real estate investing community called Subto, and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. In just a month, I’ve made connections with multi-millionaires and have formed business relationships with them due to my passion and drive to think bigger. As we speak, 2 partners of mine and I are working on a deal for student housing that is worth multiple millions of dollars. The only way that I could have come even as close as I am now to accomplishing this goal is by thinking bigger, surrounding myself with the right people, and simply going after it without any doubt or fear that I may not be “worthy” enough. By simply having the support and guidance of my business partners, it has allowed me to realistically think bigger about achieving things that we are told only extremely wealthy people can achieve. I’m at a point now where I see what is possible and realize that all the people who speak negatively about thinking big likely lack the self-confidence, mindset, community, and fearlessness to do something big and deflect this reality onto outside sources. This is a defense mechanism many people use to feel better about themselves. The reality of the situation is the only person holding you back from being great is yourself. Whether you see that reality or not is up to you.

Don’t be your own worst enemy

So many people get in the way of their own success in the name of safety and security. What these people are blind to see is what is truly possible by just thinking bigger, challenging yourself, and going after your goals no matter the perceived difficulty. Bad mindset is such a hinderance on success and achieving big things. So many people suffer with scarce mindsets and fail to see their fullest potential. Why settle for “safe” when you can be limitless if you seriously just put your mind towards it? The answer with the right mindset is you wouldn’t. People are their own worst enemies when they start looking for reasons why something they want to do is impossible. This is a coping mechanism used to make one feel better about not attempting something deemed risky and out of the norm. Instead of letting the obvious challenges and hurdles you’ll have to overcome to do something great stand in your way, embrace them. Try to find ways to surpass these obstacles and bring in other like-minded people like you to help you accomplish these feats. With the right mindset, system, and support group, anything you want to achieve is within reach. This is the magic of thinking big, and while it may sound cliche, its true and powerful. When you are faced with something you want to achieve that is extremely difficult, lay out a roadmap of how you would go about getting there. Present this roadmap to people who are like-minded and have similar goals and let your vision entice them to buy in and be a part of it. Your mind is the most powerful tool you possess and if you can learn to take control of it and use it to your advantage instead of it taking control of you, the possibilities for you are truly endless.
