The Power of The Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind is something that is viewed as voodoo or mythological by most of the population. At the very least, many people don’t understand the power that it holds over their lives. Successful people share many common characteristics, one of them being harnessing the power of the subconscious mind. Those who remain in the realm of mediocrity will never understand or attempt to understand the true power it holds. Henry Ford, one of the richest and most successful people to ever walk the planet once said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” This quote illustrates the essence of honing into the power of the subconscious mind. You can do anything you convince yourself you can do. As the old cliché phrase goes, “you can do anything you set your mind to.” To most people, these are just words, but to people such as Henry Ford, these words are reality.

Why affirmations work

Every morning I read affirmations that pertain to my current top goals. Right now my two main focuses are financial along with health and wellness. These priorities can and should shift and change as time goes on which means that so should your affirmations. The first thing I read are quotes that are related to my majors goals for that period of time. One of my favorite ones that I recite daily is the Henry Ford quote illustrated above. By repeating this quote aloud once or twice daily, it signals to your subconscious mind that the message you are verbalizing and convincing yourself is true is indeed true. This helps align your mindset, beliefs, and actions so that you remain persistent and consistent enough to obtain anything and everything you want. After quotes, I move on to my own personal affirmations. My main goal as it pertains to my finances is owning $10,000,000 of real estate by the end of 2022. By repeating this affirmation to myself daily, I affirm the fact that not only is this goal possible, but I will achieve it within the definite timeline I have given myself to do so. For your reference, I will provide this affirmation for you so that you can use it to format your own powerful affirmations that will lead you to accomplishing anything you truly desire.

“I will own $10,000,000 of real estate and gross $1,000,000 by the end of 2022 (12/31/22). My wealth will be primarily through acquiring buy and hold real estate, as well as wholesaling for active income regardless of the market conditions. To achieve this, I intend on giving up massive amounts of time I could spend doing traditional 21 year old activities like going to bars and partying. I believe I will have this money in my possession. My faith is so strong I can see, feel, and touch it all right now in my mind. I see my bank account balance and it reminds me I have reached my goal and it is time for me to think even bigger about scarier numbers. I will follow my plan to obtain this money until it is received, perfect my craft along the way, and continue to knock off monetary milestones.”

Notice I was very specific with my numbers and timeline to achieve those numbers. Being vague does not convey the message you truly believe what you are saying to your subconscious mind. By saying the exact amounts and my methods in which I will be receiving them, I send a strong message of faith to my subconscious which immediately translates this belief into reality. As Napoleon Hill says in his book all about this subject matter, Think and Grow Rich, “there is no such thing as something for nothing.” That is why I explicitly stated what I will be giving up to make my dreams become a reality. You must be ready to make sacrifices and establish strong belief and faith in yourself in order to get your subconscious mind to take you across the finish line. Once beliefs are affirmed, the mind is convinced that these principles are the way, and everything you do will be in alignment with these beliefs.

Persistence and belief make success inevitable

Affirming your beliefs and convincing your subconscious mind of their inevitability will make it so. Adversity will present itself time and time again, but because of the strong beliefs you will instill in your subconscious mind you will overcome them. There is a big difference between wanting something and having the desire to achieve it. Want is a passive term which interprets at least to me as, “It would be nice for this to happen, however, I don’t have the strong belief needed to accomplish this and will give up when faced with adversity.” Desire is a craving for success backed by strong belief and alignment with the subconscious mind that translates into action. This power is a commonality between all who reach their peak levels of success. What do you desire, and which beliefs will you choose to affirm to your subconscious mind? Choose wisely.
