Leadership is the cornerstone trait of any great entrepreneur. They embody leadership and that trait in turn makes its way to others in and around their business. The more leaders a business can mold, the more successful it will become. In my business, we have developed ourselves into fairly strong leaders and some amazing talent has found its way around us. The esteem in which the people around our business are held helps mold them into great leaders themselves. Some of them separate themselves from the pack and take on even more responsibilities than their peers. This is the type of culture we are building and trying to create.
Incentivizing leadership
The best way to mold leaders within your business is to incentivize leadership. In other words, this means to show people the value in stepping their game up and what it could yield for them down the line. Being a strong leader yourself is a big contributor because it allows others to really buy into your business and where you want to take it fully. This incentivization sometimes prompts people to go above and beyond for recognition as a result of wanting to be a bigger part of that vision moving forward. These are the types of people you want to elevate and keep around in your business. They will be the glue that holds everything together. They will take some responsibility off your plate so you can focus on growing your business, much like myself and my partners are trying to do at this very moment. People are driven by control. The more control and autonomy they have within the confines of a clear direction they’ve bought into, the more likely they are to elevate themselves and stick around your business. Offer these people ways to level up and be a bigger part of what you’re growing. They will be worth their weight in gold down the line and you will likely build a strong personal bond with these people for some time to come which is a great bonus!
Leaders appreciate value
One of the biggest ways we’ve molded leaders in our business is by providing them with tremendous value. Real estate agent outreach can be difficult to do on your own. It costs a good amount of money to source leads and a great deal of time to filter them down. Even when that is finished, closing these leads to produce revenue is by far the hardest part. By providing the leads pre vetted for our callers and helping them close these leads while teaching them how to close in the process, they are building up their confidence and loyalty to us to elevate themselves as leaders. We want them to get better at what they’re doing and genuinely care for their success. Not only does this affect our bottom line, but it is a great feeling to make money that you know will go towards feeding someone else’s family. This mutual value and respect creates a strong coalition of leaders within your business. The value we give to the right people we know will be reciprocated back. Those who do this time and time again will continue to elevate themselves within the business.
Giving opportunity to elevate
Recognizing leadership within our business has been easy. Those who show up consistently, go out of their way to go above and beyond, and work tirelessly towards our collective goals are the ones who have stuck around with us. Those people will continue to get access to us to bounce ideas off of and use us as a resource whenever they need. A few have really begun to take the bull by the horns and are locking down deals on their own without much intervention. They are turning the heads of myself and my partners and we want people like this to have a bigger role in our business moving forward. Whether that means more compensation, more control, or something else, it is our duty as leaders to find out what it is they’re looking for and provide it if it is within our means of what makes sense. Keeping these people around and happy is extremely important and showing a mutual commitment to one another is an amazing culture to continue to grow and cultivate. Leaders mold leaders. Hone in on your leadership skills and mold those around you into the leaders you’ll need to conquer your mutual goals. With this power, all parties involved will be unstoppable!
