Self talk positive, always! This is such a key to being in the right mindset. When you are constantly reinforcing positive belief in yourself, your performance on a daily basis will reap benefits. I cannot stress enough how big a role inner monologue plays in every situation. You may not even realize it most of the time but your mind is always talking to you. A lot of the time, people’s inner monologue convinces them they are not good enough to do something, or are incapable. This is a powerful voice coming from in your head and most people listen to that voice vehemently. Let’s take a look into what this voice is and how you can use it to your advantage.
Controlling inner monologue
Inner monologue plays such an important role in our lives without us even knowing sometimes. You can convince yourself of anything in your own head which is a pretty unbelievable advantage to have. However, most people don’t take advantage of this for a variety of reasons. These reasons can stem from a problem at home growing up, losing someone close to you, having an embarrassing event happen. etc. These negative experiences program your brain to think and feel a certain way about particular things. It also may lead to a loss in self-confidence which can take away your ability to do a lot of things. Not many people know they can hone in on this inner monologue and program it in a way that will guide them towards success. It can be difficult to do and I struggle with it myself sometimes, but it is a powerful asset to have on your side.
using inner monologue to manifest reality
We have already discussed the crippling effects of negative inner monologue. The same is true however in the opposite direction. If you can visualize success in the future and follow your heart towards it, most likely you will find it. Convincing yourself you can do something that may be out of the ordinary will dramatically increase your chances of being successful. Having positive inner monologue raises your confidence levels through the roof. This translates into success in whatever endeavors you choose to take on. This confidence will also attract other people to take you seriously and respect what you have to say. Not only will positive self-talk help you manifest things into reality, but it will help you become a leader. People gravitate towards confidence regularly. Confidence is contagious, and being around someone who is very confident in a way that isn’t boastful will in turn improve their peer’s confidence. Having positive inner monologue will help turn you into the leader you want to be. But how do we force our brains to produce this positive inner monologue anyway?
Producing positive inner monologue
This subject is not as tricky as it seems. People tend to lose confidence not only because of past experiences, but because they set their goals too high and get disappointed when they don’t achieve them. This is a constant problem in my life and it is something I am focusing in on intensely. Setting your heights high is great, but it is imperative to build yourself up to that point. Start with a small task to keep you accountable to your word like working out for 30-45 minutes 3-4 times a week. Sticking with a goal like this will not only make your body feel better, but will give you an emotional attachment to your word. If you say you will do something constantly and never do it, your brain will begin to not believe what you say. This is something you really don’t want to happen. If you can’t be accountable to yourself and others, your inner monologue becomes more and more pessimistic. Once you accomplish some small tasks and prove to yourself you can be accountable to your word, you can set the sights a bit higher and higher. Like I said in my last post, always something is much better than all or nothing. This principle applies very much when it comes to positive inner monologue. Confidence takes some time to build and it is always a work in progress. Don’t give up on it!
Staying accountable
Once you accomplish these small goals and create habits to ensure self-accountability, don’t stop. Many people will reach this breakthrough moment, celebrate, and then return back to their old ways. Don’t let this be you! Celebrating is fine. You have accomplished something many people never try to, but don’t get complacent. That negative voice in your head is never too far away. If you are not improving you are stagnating. The best minds in the world are people who are always learning and improving while keeping their confidence and accountability intact. Your brain is such a powerful asset. It can literally manifest reality if you learn how to use it and control its thoughts. If you don’t do this, your brain will control you and fill you with negativity and pessimism. Don’t be a slave to you brain! Practice accountability and improving confidence every day and your brain will become a well-oiled machine!
